About Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust
At Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust we are very proud of our specialist palliative care and end of life care co-ordination Hub. The CQC awarded us excellent for our service in 2017.
The team consists of:
- Specialist Palliative Consultants
- Specialist Palliative Care Nurses for the Acute and Community
- End of Life Care Facilitators
- Urgent Response Team
- Day Hospice
- Macmillan Occupational Therapists
The service operates 24/7 providing care to patients in hospital and community in Sandwell and West Birmingham.
Palliative Care Nurse Vacancy
We currently have a vacancy available for a Palliative Care Nurse. You must be a registered nurse with the appropriate qualifications and experience. The applicant for this post will be responsible for coordinating a caseload of patients and staff on a shift, to ensure that all calls from palliative and end of life care patients are responded to in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
- Rotation between the Palliative Care Hub and Urgent Response Team
- Development opportunities
- Good clinical knowledge around end of life care, including symptom control and community services
- Shift pattern involves rotation between day and nights, 12 hour shifts
Requirements
- Registered nurse with appropriate qualifications and experience
