Occupational Therapist – Palliative Care Unit
The Palliative Care Unit at North Tyneside General Hospital is looking for an Occupational Therapist with an interest in Palliative care to join our lovely team.
About the Unit
We are a 19 bed in-patient unit that provides specialist palliative care for those patients. We care for patients with complex palliative care needs and includes end of life care.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a strong MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) work ethos, which is proudly embedded into practice.
- Job share with our part time Occupational Therapist, who works on the unit.
- Provide high standards of patient centred care.
Requirements
- Permanent post, contracted for 18.75 hours over 3 days.
- Enthusiasm and a passion for palliative care.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and alone when needed.
- Work closely with the rest of the MDT on the unit and carry out home assessments.
- Ability to navigate electronic systems used by the trust.
