PANEL BEATER CORBY

£21.27 per hour | Monday-Friday | 14:00-22:00 | Full-Time

Abstract Recruitment is currently recruiting an experienced Panel Beater / Panel Technician to join a busy automotive bodyshop in Corby.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking for a long-term role with a well-established company. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality vehicle repairs while meeting required standards, timescales, and targets.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out panel preparation, including sanding, masking, and priming
  • Repairing and preparing vehicles to a high standard before painting
  • Checking panels for defects and ensuring all repairs meet the required quality standards
  • Working on a variety of vehicles, from family cars to light commercial vehicles
  • Following manufacturer, paint, and material suppliers' standards and processes
  • Inspecting repair work before starting to ensure the correct repair standard is achieved
  • Completing parts requisitions accurately
  • Working efficiently to meet agreed timescales and productivity targets
  • Providing guidance and technical support to junior technicians when needed

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Panel Beater, Panel Technician, Bodyshop Technician, or similar
  • Proven experience carrying out vehicle body repairs
  • Strong knowledge of structural vehicle repair techniques
  • Experience with MIG/TIG welding, bonding, and related repair methods
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality
  • The ability to work independently and make decisions when required
  • A professional attitude and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship
  • A genuine interest in the automotive industry

Qualifications & Requirements

  • IMI, NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent automotive qualification
  • Proven experience in a similar Panel Technician role
  • Full valid UK driving licence
  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles
  • For insurance purposes, applicants must be aged 21 or over and have held a driving licence for a minimum of 2 years
