Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Panel Beater / Prepper role based in Dagenham. The role involves assessing vehicle body damage, carrying out panel beating, straightening, and repairs, and preparing panels and surfaces for refinishing. Day-to-day tasks include filling, sanding, masking, and priming, as well as aligning panels and ensuring correct fit and finish. The Panel Beater / Prepper will work closely with paint technicians and other workshop team members to meet quality standards and deadlines, follow health and safety procedures, and maintain tools and equipment. The role may also include basic vehicle checks and supporting colleagues with general workshop duties as required.

  • Strong Maintenance & Repair and Vehicle Maintenance skills for bodywork, panels, and related components.
  • Ability to perform Troubleshooting on vehicle body issues and identify appropriate repair methods.
  • Experience working with Heavy Equipment and workshop tools used in panel beating and preparation.
  • Supervisory Skills or experience leading small teams or mentoring less experienced technicians is beneficial.
  • Previous experience as a panel beater, prepper, or body repair technician in an automotive workshop.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices in an automotive bodyshop environment.
  • Attention to detail, ability to follow repair specifications, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Relevant vocational training or certification in vehicle body repair or automotive engineering is an advantage.
