At Select We Are Looking for an Experienced Panel Wireperson
This job requires building and wiring control panels from electrical drawings and schematics. This may be construction of new panels, re-wiring and modification of old panels, and some wiring and installation on customer sites.
We are looking for someone with 5+ years' experience in a similar role, ideally with an electrical qualification. Good skills using hand tools and crimping equipment. You will be required to show you can read and interpret electrical drawings at interview stage.
Experience working with Siemens and Allen Bradley equipment is desirable, ability to freehand loom in complex control panels is a huge plus. Knowledge of various standards such as IEC60204 and ul508a is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Looming and Crimping
- Laying out and installing electrical components
- Wiring panels from bare backplates through to installing in enclosures and final assembly
- Preparing finished panels for test and customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
- Working within allotted timeframes to meet scheduling needs
- Ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained and functioning
- Working to Select's quality standards ISO9001
- Working safely in a manufacturing environment

Essential Skills
- Reading electrical diagrams
- Reading and understanding Part numbers on part lists
- Crimping and terminating electrical connections
- Good verbal communication to convey problems, issues and concerns
- Looming cabling to components
- Control of hand tools to correctly tighten terminations

Pay and Conditions
- £29-36k + Depending on experience (£15-18.70 per hour)
- Overtime at 1.5x Hourly - Occasionally required to meet production demands
- Working hours - 37 Per Week
- 07.30-16.00 Monday to Thursday
- 07.30-12.30 Friday
