Paralegal (6–9 Month FTC – Parental Leave Cover)

Salary: £37,488 + excellent benefits

Location: High Wycombe or Letchworth Garden City

Hybrid working: 2 days per week in the office, 3 days from home

Contract: 6–9 months fixed-term parental leave cover

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our in-house Legal team on a 6–9 month fixed-term contract covering parental leave. This role provides essential support in managing Civil Access Injunction matters and wider housing management legal files, helping us deliver an efficient, professional, and customer-focused legal service.

We operate a hybrid working model with two days each week in our modern High Wycombe offices and three days working from home.

About The Role

As Paralegal, you will work closely with our in-house Legal team to support the management of civil litigation and housing-related legal matters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in civil litigation or housing law to gain valuable experience in a busy, fast-paced legal function.

Regular access to a vehicle is required, as you may need to attend court when necessary. Business mileage is reimbursed at 55p per mile, excluding home-to-work travel in line with policy.

What you’ll be doing (under the supervision of qualified lawyers)

  • Managing your own caseload of civil litigation matters, including access injunctions, disrepair, and housing management cases
  • Drafting legal documents such as claim forms, pleadings, witness statements, and court bundles
  • Conducting legal research, liaising with courts, and preparing disclosure materials
  • Providing administrative support, including file maintenance, invoicing, and correspondence
  • Supporting internal stakeholders with legal queries and contributing to training and knowledge sharing
  • Assisting with financial record-keeping and legal spend tracking

What We’re Looking For

Must Haves

  • A degree in Law or equivalent, with LPC, BPC, or CILEX preferred
  • Experience managing a caseload in a legal environment, ideally within social housing, private practice, or local authority
  • Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and legal processes
  • Excellent drafting, research, and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Proficiency in legal databases and Microsoft Office
