Application Deadline: 26 September 2026
Department: Legal
Employment Type: Permanent
Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne
Reporting To: General Counsel
Description
We’re looking for a Junior Paralegal to join Bede’s Legal team and work closely with our General Counsel across a broad range of commercial and operational matters. This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the beginning of their legal career who wants to build valuable in-house experience within an international technology business. From contracts and procurement to company secretarial work, due diligence and audit support, you’ll gain broad exposure and take on greater ownership as your experience grows.
This is a hybrid role that requires you to be in our Newcastle upon Tyne office two days a week. Please apply only if you’re comfortable with this arrangement.
What you'll be doing
- Assist the General Counsel on a broad range of legal and contractual aspects, functioning as a liaison for the business, ensuring a swift and informed response.
- Gain familiarity and subsequently take ownership of the administration of the legal systems used throughout Bede including Bede’s contract management system and OneDrive/SharePoint to create and maintain searchable, reliable and organised records.
- Supervise and execute company secretarial tasks across the Bede group, assuring adherence to statutory and regulatory prerequisites.
- Assist and help manage the Procurement Process across the business and work with key stakeholders when each procurement arises.
- Take a proactive role in contract management, consistently updating pertinent stakeholders within the organisation about both existing and forthcoming obligations.
- Assist in Bede’s Due Diligence requirements including coordinating requests from banks, game providers, third parties and regulators.
- Assist in the day-to-day Legal Team operations including legal planning, work tracking, administration, template management, reporting and process improvement.
- Participate in the development of new business including administration of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Request for Proposals (RFPs) and subsequently assisting in any customer or supplier onboarding.
- Provide Audit Support and manage the Legal Team’s critical contribution to SOC, ISO and other audits; locating and supplying evidence to Compliance and Finance teams as required.
- Assist in the management and administration of agendas, pre-reads, meeting logistics and minute support for Malta and Canada board and committee meetings.
- Stay up to date with relevant legal developments, industry regulations, and best practices to ensure the company's legal strategies remain current and effective.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
