Paralegal

Location: London - hybrid 50%
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time 35 hours

Purpose of the Role

As a Paralegal, you will provide legal support to the business and group functions across Just Group, primarily supporting the Defined Benefit (DB) business. Working as part of a collaborative Legal team, you will help deliver practical, high-quality legal services, support commercial and transactional activity, and contribute to the effective management of legal risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Assistant General Counsel and Legal Leadership Team in achieving the Group's strategic objectives, working closely with senior leaders, managers and colleagues across the wider Legal team.
  • Provide legal support, drafting, negotiation and advice across a range of matters, with a particular focus on smaller DB transactions and associated workflows, including NDAs, post-transaction queries, ad hoc business requests and contracts.
  • Assist with the management and timely delivery of project-related activities, including coordinating electronic signing processes via DocuSign.
  • Support monitoring and mitigation of legal risks in line with the Group's risk framework.
  • Coordinate training sessions and meetings, liaise with external advisers and law firms where required, and support transactional work, commercial contracts and day-to-day departmental activities.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the wider Legal team as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Graduate, with experience gained in a legal, paralegal, contract management or similar professional environment. Applications are welcomed from both early-career and experienced candidates.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • A genuine interest in legal work and developing a legal career.
  • Keen interest in AI, automation and the use of technology to improve ways of working.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and database systems.
  • Able to build effective working relationships with colleagues across different teams.
  • Commercially aware, pragmatic and solution-focused in approach.
  • Able to prioritise effectively and manage competing demands in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
