The opportunity

We are looking for a capable and ambitious Paralegal to join our Litigation & Arbitration team in Nottingham. You must bring prior paralegal experience or transferable experience from a litigation environment.

This role will support our retail banking disputes workstream, providing an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on litigation experience while working alongside senior lawyers on a broad range of matters. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality litigation support within a collaborative and fast-paced team environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to build your technical capability, gain valuable dispute resolution experience, and develop your career within a leading litigation practice.

Our team

Our Litigation & Arbitration team advises clients across a broad range of complex and high value disputes including general commercial litigation and arbitration, financial services litigation, contentious regulatory work and pensions litigation.

Role and key responsibilities

In these roles, typical responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with case preparation, including drafting correspondence, compiling bundles, managing disclosure and filing of procedural court documents
  • Conducting legal research and summarising findings for use in litigation matters
  • Liaising with courts, clients, counsel and third parties to progress matters efficiently
  • Maintaining accurate records of court deadlines and ensuring compliance with procedural deadlines
  • Preparing court documents and assisting with filing and submission
  • Providing administrative support, including billing and matter management
  • Maintaining compliance with internal risk and conflicts processes
  • Assisting with maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures and templates as processes evolve
  • Supporting data capture for reporting on claim volumes, outcomes and trends
  • Extensive contact with clients and intermediaries in order to progress matters and seek and receive instructions from clients.

Skills and experience

We are looking for:

  • Previous experience as a paralegal in a disputes or litigation team, or transferrable experience from a similar environment
  • Demonstrable understanding of court procedures and deadlines, with the ability to progress multiple matters concurrently
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Exceptional focus on detail and quality
  • Dedication to delivering excellent client service at all times
  • Excellent academics
