Provide vital legal support to protect vulnerable residents.
As a Paralegal in our Bi-Borough Social Care & Education Legal Team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding vulnerable residents. Working closely with our lawyers, you will provide high-quality professional support on every case and help build a safer, fairer Kensington and Chelsea for all residents.
What you’ll be doing
Your day-to-day work will focus on providing comprehensive paralegal support to at least three lawyers. You will handle key case-management tasks, from instructing experts and counsel to drafting initial legal documents, proofreading documents and undertaking legal research using appropriate methods. A core part of your role will involve preparing electronic court bundles, uploading them to digital courtrooms and liaising with the various courts.
Beyond core legal support, you will help keep the team running smoothly by managing diaries, organising meetings, processing purchase orders and maintaining accurate records on our electronic case-management system and other data spreadsheets. Working closely with our Business Support Team, you will ensure that agreed actions are delivered on time, support the onboarding of new team members and maintain compliant office processes. As your experience and confidence grow, you will also have the opportunity to take the lead on non-contentious court matters under the supervision of a solicitor.

What you’ll bring
You will hold a Level 2 Diploma in Legal Studies, a CILEx qualification, a law degree or a non-law degree with some practical legal experience. To excel in this role, you will need a meticulous eye for detail and strong organisational skills. You will be fully confident working in a digital environment. You will also bring prior experience from an office or legal environment, where you have demonstrated a logical and proactive approach to solving problems.
You will be an effective communicator who knows how to navigate difficult conversations and situations to keep cases moving forward. Above all, you will be approachable, resilient and collaborative – someone who takes genuine pride in delivering high-quality legal support while upholding our core values of respect, integrity and putting communities first. In this role, you will bring a hands-on mindset to work that truly matters.
