Summary
A very exciting opportunity to join the Robinson Ralph Team in their central Leeds location. You will be supporting the employment law team as a Paralegal Apprentice, learning practical legal and client support skills while helping with files, tribunal documents, and training events.
Wage: £22,000 a year
Training course: Paralegal (level 3)
Hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. 37 hours 30 minutes a week
Start date: Monday 2 November 2026
Duration: 1 year 9 months

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Main responsibilities:
- Open new client matters and help complete identity and onboarding checks.
- Keep case files accurate, organised, and up to date, including following up on missing information.
- Help prepare, paginate, and index documents, witness statements, and tribunal bundles.
- Upload documents to the employment tribunal system and record important dates and directions.
- Arrange electronic signatures for documents, including settlement agreements.
- Help prepare materials and printed packs for client training sessions and tribunal hearings.
- Assist with closing completed matters in line with our processes.
- Assist with responding to data subject access requests (DSARs), including gathering, organising, and redacting documents, reviewing information under supervision, and helping prepare responses.
- Carry out legal research for solicitors and summarise your findings to help them advise clients.

Training

What you'll learn
- Assist in administering procedures using the most effective channels to progress caseloads.
- Conduct legal research using selected sources such as legal databases.
- Solve legal technical problems within their remit and escalate as needed.
- Present findings from legal research in line with organisational expectations.
- Assist in applying the principles of Law to stakeholder cases.
- Assist with legal matters and transactions within the organisation.
- Communicate using plain English to provide clarification and explanation of the legal process and standard legal terms.
- Organise and administer workflow such as legal files, case management, and accounting systems to progress work within service level expectations.
- Carry out file management activities such as prepare and collate bundles, take and file accurate notes, close and review files, maintain databases, and version control.
- Use a range of digital tools and technologies, for example, to draft legal documents, conduct legal research, carry out data analysis, and collaborate with others.
- Apply fraud protection measures and cyber security procedures in relation to transactions, keeping up to date with approaches.
- Undertake activities to ensure a clear picture of a stakeholder’s needs and risks throughout legal transactions.
- Assess risks and benefits to the stakeholder of different options and making recommendations to senior team members to ensure that they work in the stakeholders’ best interests.

Requirements
Essential qualifications:
- GCSE in: 5 x including English and maths (grade 4/C and above)
- A Level in: 3 x A-Levels (grade A* - C)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
