Description
Flint Bishop is a law firm operating in England and Wales, acting for a range of clients including large UK-based organisations.
This Paralegal will play a vital role within our Debt Recovery department by assisting in the management of litigated matters on behalf of the firm’s clients to recover aged debt. You will ensure that clients, represented by Flint Bishop, receive proactive, consistent, and efficient levels of service.
The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, and reports to the Head of Debt Services and the Practice Management Senior Associate.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling own caseload of defended cases to conclusion.
- Undertake elements of fee earning work under supervision, in particular:
- Reviewing defences filed on receipt and providing comprehensive advice to our clients with regard to the merits of the defended claim and next steps.
- Preparation of bundles, witness statements and agents instructions for hearings.
- Dealing with interim applications on behalf of our clients, such as applications to set aside judgment.
- Processing agents reports and court orders.
- Dealing with incoming telephone calls and correspondence.
- Making outbound telephone calls.
- Ensuring that we comply with regulatory and legislative (CPR) requirements at all times.
- Working to service standards agreed with our clients.
- Updating client systems to reflect the activities we have performed.
- Assisting with client reporting and management information.
- Deal wherever possible with routine client enquiries and communications.
- Identify areas that may benefit from improvement and communicate them to your team manager.

- Experience of working as a paralegal is essential, working within a similar environment is desirable.
