Who We Seek

Our merit-based culture suits professionals in pursuit of boundless careers and lives. Beyond their acumen, team members are collaborative and conscientious, bringing a healthy sense of drive and purpose to each interaction and to all aspects of their work.

About the Role

In this role you will be working in a team structure including 4 partners, 4 of counsel/associates, 1 paralegal and 2 legal secretaries and will fill the role of Paralegal to the Finance Group in the London office of Maples and Calder.

The purpose is to assist in the day-to-day management and administration of an active portfolio of repackaging vehicles of various investment banks, Cayman Islands listings, real estate finance and fund finance matters, other structured finance programmes and with general corporate and banking opinion work.

It is essential that the candidate will be extremely well organised and will be required to work in an environment where great importance is placed on following instructions and the ability to request assistance from other team members when a deal requires it.

The successful candidate will have a high level of client interaction, thus must possess strong communication skills (both written and oral), have extremely good attention to detail and be able to work comfortably in a professional environment with tight timetables and multiple deadlines. During the first six months, the successful candidate will be expected to work from the office four days per week to support onboarding, training and integration with the team. After this period, the role will move to our standard hybrid working arrangement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
