About Cafcass

At Cafcass, we represent children in family court proceedings and independently advise the family courts about what is safe and in children's best interests. Every year, we work with thousands of children and families across England, ensuring that children's voices are heard when important decisions are being made about their lives.

We are now looking for a Paralegal to join our Legal Services team.

The Role

As a Paralegal, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of legal services across Cafcass. Working closely with the six Solicitors in the team, and colleagues across all management levels across the organisation, you will help ensure legal matters are managed effectively and efficiently.

You will provide legal and administrative support to the solicitors in the conduct of their individual caseloads which will include:

  • The preparation of court bundles
  • Undertaking legal research as and when required
  • Assisting in the preparation of other litigation documents under supervision
  • Attending court hearings with Counsel and taking detailed notes of court hearings
  • Acting as a key point of contact for colleagues and external partners, helping to deliver a responsive and professional service
  • Responsibility for updating the legal intranet page and preparing legal updates for practice staff as needed

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
