We are looking for a motivated Paralegal to join our growing UK legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity to build broad in-house legal experience within a leading engineering and design consultancy, supporting major infrastructure, buildings and urban development projects across the UK and internationally.
Working closely with the Legal Director and senior business leaders, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of legal matters, including commercial contracts, disputes and claims, insurance, corporate governance, employment, data protection, intellectual property, real estate and company secretarial work. This varied role is ideal for someone looking to develop broad commercial and legal skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The role & responsibilities
- Contract management and administration
- Assisting with the drafting, review and negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts, under the supervision of other members of the Legal team
- Assisting with the administration and coordination of disputes and claims (both by and against the business), including maintaining records and liaising with external advisers
- Supporting with company secretarial matters, including statutory filings and corporate record maintenance
- Maintaining precedent documents
- Legal research
- Supporting the development and implementation of policies and processes across the UK Group
- Supporting the legal team with matter management, reporting and administrative activities
Your qualities
You will need to be able to work well as part of a small, busy, friendly team and operate across the wider business, with an ability to work collaboratively with other functions and businesses within the Group.
You will be pragmatic, adaptable, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and enjoy partnering with colleagues across the business.
We’d like to hear from you if you have:
- Previous paralegal experience or experience working with commercial contracts in a legal or business environment
- A law degree, SQE/LPC or CILEX qualification (or equivalent relevant experience)
- Experience of construction, engineering or professional services contracts would be advantageous
- The ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
- Team player, with the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels, including cross-functionally with other business functions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work on numerous tasks concurrently, prioritising effectively and managing competing deadlines
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn across multiple legal disciplines
