Paralegal
Location: London - hybrid 50%
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time 35 hours
Purpose of the Role
As a Paralegal, you will provide legal support to the business and group functions across Just Group, primarily supporting the Defined Benefit (DB) business. Working as part of a collaborative Legal team, you will help deliver practical, high-quality legal services, support commercial and transactional activity, and contribute to the effective management of legal risk.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their legal career, whether you are building on existing paralegal experience or seeking a role that could support your future progression towards a Training Contract.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Assistant General Counsel and Legal Leadership Team in achieving the Group's strategic objectives, working closely with senior leaders, managers and colleagues across the wider Legal team.
- Provide legal support, drafting, negotiation and advice across a range of matters, with a particular focus on smaller DB transactions and associated workflows, including NDAs, post-transaction queries, ad hoc business requests and contracts.
- Assist with the management and timely delivery of project-related activities, including coordinating electronic signing processes via DocuSign.
- Support monitoring and mitigation of legal risks in line with the Group's risk framework.
- Coordinate training sessions and meetings, liaise with external advisers and law firms where required, and support transactional work, commercial contracts and day-to-day departmental activities.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the wider Legal team as required.

What We’re Looking For
- Graduate, with experience gained in a legal, paralegal, contract management or similar professional environment. Applications are welcomed from both early-career and experienced candidates.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- A genuine interest in legal work and developing a legal career.
- Keen interest in AI, automation and the use of technology to improve ways of working.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and database systems.
- Able to build effective working relationships with colleagues across different teams.
- Commercially aware, pragmatic and solution-focused in approach.
- Able to prioritise effectively and manage competing demands in a dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
