We are working with a growing organisation that is looking to appoint an Interim Paralegal to support its newly established in-house legal function.

This is a hands-on role focused on helping to build the foundations of the legal team, with a particular emphasis on document management, legal operations and process improvement.

The role

You will work closely with the organisation's first in-house lawyer to help create structure around the legal function and improve how legal documents and resources are managed.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Building and organising a central legal document repository
  • Liaising with internal teams to locate contracts and legal documents held across different systems and locations
  • Cleaning up, organising and migrating documentation into one central location
  • Helping establish naming conventions, controls and document governance processes
  • Supporting the creation of legal templates, playbooks, guides and other resources
  • Assisting with wider legal operations and process improvement projects
  • Potentially supporting initial research into legal technology and AI tools

About you

We are looking for someone with previous paralegal experience who is comfortable taking ownership of projects and bringing structure to a busy environment.

You are likely to have:

  • Previous in-house paralegal or legal operations experience
  • Strong document and contract management experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience improving legal processes, systems or repositories
  • Confidence working independently and liaising with stakeholders across the business

Previous leasing or financial services experience would be helpful but is not essential.
