Location: Primarily Remote (UK) with occasional travel to Sheffield and archive locations across the UK
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required (Absolute Requirement)
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Paralegal to support a major public inquiry. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile and complex matter, contributing to work of significant public importance.
The role is primarily remote, offering flexibility while also requiring occasional travel within the UK to support specific aspects of the inquiry.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting document review and disclosure exercises.
- Assessing documentation for relevance and evidential value.
- Using Relativity and other e-disclosure platforms to manage and review material.
- Reviewing documents for redaction and confidentiality considerations.
- Assisting with the preparation of witness statements and supporting materials.
- Supporting wider inquiry-related legal and administrative activities as required.
- Assisting with the review of hard copy documents held in archives across the UK.

Requirements
Essential
- Active SC (Security Check) Clearance. This is an absolute requirement and candidates without current SC clearance cannot be considered.
- Previous experience working on a public inquiry.
- Experience of document review and disclosure processes.
- Familiarity with relevance review methodologies.
- Experience using Relativity for document review.
- Experience carrying out redactions and handling sensitive material.
- Experience supporting witness statement preparation.

Desirable
- Experience working within large-scale investigations, inquiries, or litigation matters.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of documentation.
- Ability to work independently in a largely remote environment.
Location & Travel
While the Inquiry is based in Sheffield, the majority of work can be performed remotely. Candidates must be willing to travel occasionally to:
- The Inquiry's offices in Sheffield.
- Archive locations across the UK to assist with the review of physical documents.
