Job Description
CMS is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated Assistant Paralegal or experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join our Legal Services Unit in our Sheffield or Manchester office on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The role will be focused on supporting one of our energy and utilities clients with documenting land rights in Scotland and England via servitudes and easements. This will include managing your own caseload of transactions, taking client instructions, negotiating the deeds, and arranging completions.
About the Role
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Managing a busy caseload of transactions including liaising with the client to obtain instructions;
- Drafting the easement / servitude documentation, negotiating with the counterparty to the transaction, and carrying out basic title reviews;
- Updating online trackers;
- Managing completion and post-completion registrations, forms, filing, and client signing / reporting requirements.

About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Paralegal or experienced Real Estate-focused Paralegal. You will have a keen eye for detail with the ability to use your initiative and you must be used to dealing with a large workload. You should have a strong academic background and may have a degree in law or equivalent qualification. Alternatively, you may be working towards CILEX or have previous time-served Paralegal experience in a Real Estate background.
