Paralegal - Real Estate Residential

Description

To enable us to deliver the right outcomes to our clients, with a commercial edge, we're looking for a Paralegal to support our Real Estate Residential team's qualified fee earners on matters such as:

  • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
  • New build properties
  • Help to Buy properties
  • Shared Ownership properties
  • Remortgages
  • Builders and Developers

Our Paralegals are responsible for a wide range of general, administrative, and other legal services related tasks, and provide support across the team, meaning exceptional attention to detail is essential and maintaining a very high standard when preparing emails, letters, reports, and responding to information requests is key. This is also a role which provides a great development opportunity for those at the start of their legal career who have aspirations to progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicating with clients of the department in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring clients and introducers always receive the best possible service.
  • Receiving telephone calls into the department, dealing with straightforward enquiries where possible and directing enquiries where appropriate.
  • Making calls to clients and third parties involved in the conveyancing transaction.
  • Ordering searches and drafting search reports and mortgage reports under the supervision of a conveyancer.
  • Logging post in and responding promptly to requests for updates from clients, estate agents, brokers and introducers, and ensuring introducer portals are updated where necessary.
  • Preparing contract packs.
  • Ordering documents from HMLR, bankruptcy searches, priority searches and company searches.
  • Preparing files for completion.
  • Ensuring that the firm's case management system is fully up to date.
  • Using your initiative to progress files where appropriate and raising any issues/concerns to conveyancer with responsibility for the matter.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We are looking for capable law graduates with experience working within a conveyancing team and strong communication and analytical skills, in addition to:

  • Excellent IT skills, particularly with experience in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A strong team working ethic - providing support where necessary, and knowing when to seek guidance from your colleagues.
  • The ability to manage a busy workload, be proactive, and prioritise effectively.
  • The skills and confidence to communicate well orally and in writing, including dealing directly with clients when required.
  • Excellent customer services skills.
