Job Title: Paralegal – Recoveries
Location: Leeds – Garforth LS25 1NB
Job Length: Full Time

Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, poppi, Lipton Iced Tea and Rockstar Energy.
With a strong national footprint, the Carlsberg Britvic business includes 5 production facilities and 16 logistics depot’s servicing customers up and down the UK. As these two historical businesses have come together, the one common goal remains, and that is ensuring our people succeed.
About the role:
The Paralegal will provide legal advice and support in matters of debt recovery, ensuring that teams are working within the constraints of all company policies and procedures.

You will help to mitigate the risk and exposure to all Carlsberg Britvic for all trade debt loans.
Role Responsibilities:
- Business partner to Credit & Loans team
- Support in litigation matters, including pre-action activity, drafting and preparing letters before action, drafting legal proceedings, including bundle preparation, drafting witness statements, instructing counsel and attending court.
- Maintain and manage the litigation database.
- Execute and enforce judgements, including instructing High Court enforcement, attachment of earnings, instigating county court judgement activity and insolvency proceedings.
- Liaise with external counsel as necessary.
- Prepare regular Excel reports covering case volumes, expenditure, recovery/outcomes and success rates, ensuring accurate data and performance information is maintained.
Experience and Key Attributes:
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer activities and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data, systems, evidence and process compliance.
- Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills are essential.
- Experience in the area of commercial litigation, debt recovery or insolvency.
- Demonstrate experience of managing own caseload of litigation matters from cradle to grave, progressing cases through the full end-to-end process, from initial instruction through to resolution, ensuring appropriate action is taken at each stage.
- Have an understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules, and to have an understanding of the Insolvency Act and consumer credit/financial regulations is desirable.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure with keen attention to detail & an aptitude for problem solving with the ability to work using their own initiative.
- Excellent written, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
