An Opportunity for a Paralegal in Risk & Compliance
An opportunity has arisen for a paralegal to join our Risk & Compliance team, supporting a team of risk lawyers. The role will encompass assisting in the management of the Firm's insurance arrangements, including the handling of claims against the Firm. The successful candidate will also be involved in a broad range of other risk and compliance related issues such as professional practice regulation and ethics.
This recruitment is likely to provide the candidate with opportunities to learn and become proficient in areas beyond their current area of expertise. Training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting Risk lawyers with:
- The renewal of the Firm's insurance arrangements in relation to professional indemnity, including completing the proposal forms, preparing the presentations to insurers and liaising with the Firm's insurance brokers;
- Maintaining the Firm's relevant processes, policies and procedures and industry standards;
- Researching legal and other issues and dealing with general risk queries as they arise or as required;
- Assisting with the preparation of training and generally supporting the Risk & Compliance team as requested.

The Successful Candidate Will
- Be proactive;
- Be willing to take the initiative;
- Have good organisational skills and attention to detail;
- Have an excellent command of written and spoken English, and the ability to tailor style as appropriate;
- Have a willingness to assist across a range of tasks; and
- Maintain a positive, can-do attitude.
Qualifications And Experience
- Law degree desirable.
- Past paralegal experience advantageous.
- Past litigation experience desirable.
The role will also require the candidate to work collaboratively with other business services functions including Accounts, IT, and HR.
