We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated paralegal to join the London Sports Group to focus on contentious and regulatory sports work. The role represents an outstanding opportunity to work on some of the most high-profile matters in national and international sport and become a key member of the team.
Key Responsibilities
The role will involve supporting members of the London Sports Group engaged in contentious/regulatory sports work (and others as necessary). Over time, this will include exposure across to various types of contentious and regulatory sports matters.
You will be part of a close-knit team of partners and associates who are passionate about both sport and sports law.
Your Role Will Include
- The provision of logistical support in respect of hearings, including (for example) in respect of arrangements concerning the hearing venue, liaising with witnesses in respect of their availability, and dealing with transcription and translation/interpretation service providers.
- The creation of internal bundles for members of the sports group, and external bundles for meetings/hearings.
- Arranging for the translation of documents and the transcription of audio recordings (and ensuring the accuracy of such transcription).
- General document management, including reviewing, organising and indexing.
- Uploading documents to electronic databases, and conducting searches on document databases to identify relevant documents.
- Proofreading and checking legal submissions and other documents, including checking amendments, verifying cross-references, checking definitions and checking for sense and consistency.
- Assistance with the filing of submissions and other documents in a variety of forums, predominantly sports arbitrations (including with the Court of Arbitration for Sport and Sport Resolutions).
- Note taking at internal and external meetings.
- Liaising with other office functions whilst providing the support to the fee-earners, i.e. Office Services, Accounts, IT.
- Providing general administrative support as required, including in relation to know-how and business development activities.

What You'll Bring
The successful candidate must have:
- Solid academic achievement - degree and/or legal qualification.
- Substantial experience working in contentious matters, such as litigation or arbitration, with experience preparing for and attending trials and/or hearings. Experience working in large-scale contentious matters is desirable.
- While experience in contentious matters within the sports field will be looked at favourably, this is not essential.
- Excellent, proven organisational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with first-rate attention to detail.
- A positive, flexible and responsive approach to meeting the needs of the Sports Group and its clients, including flexibility regarding working hours.
- Confidence and calmness under pressure, including in the face of the challenges inherent in contentious/regulatory sports work, including working under time pressure, and in an environment that might be subject to media exposure.
- A commitment to regularly update your own technical expertise and to achieve continuous improvement and development and contribute to the general upkeep of the group (precedents, or know-how generally).
- Experience and familiarity with using AI-platforms.
- Experience and familiarity with the sports sector (as a fan or participant).
- Experience working in a large law firm is desirable (but not essential).
