Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Paralegal to join a high-profile statutory Public Inquiry investigating Scotland's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is a unique opportunity to support a nationally significant investigation, working alongside Solicitors and Counsel to review evidence, prepare legal documentation and contribute to complex investigations that will help shape future public policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Solicitors and Counsel with reviewing evidence and preparing reports and legal documentation.
  • Support the gathering and analysis of witness evidence.
  • Prepare and review core participant documentation.
  • Cross-check documents prior to publication and complete legal redactions.
  • Liaise with Solicitors and Counsel throughout investigations.
  • Conduct legal research and analyse large volumes of complex documentation.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Paralegal within a law firm in Scotland is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of Scots law and Scottish legal procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical, research and organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

What's on Offer

  • Salary of £39,767 per annum. LTD day rate £207.58 PAYE (INC) £177.14
  • 12-month contract with the potential for extension.
  • Hybrid working – 2 days per week in the Edinburgh office.
  • Opportunity to work on a prestigious, high-profile Public Inquiry with an experienced legal team.
