Paralegal within the conveyancing team

We are looking for a talented paralegal to join our conveyancing team in Milton Keynes. As a member of the team you will assist your team leader on sale, purchase, transfer of equity, and remortgage transactions. You’ll need to be keen to learn and also have the confidence to deal with clients right from the very beginning, being both approachable as well as efficient to resolve matters as quickly as possible for our clients. You will need to have excellent organisational and time management skills, be able to work independently and be driven to provide an excellent service to our clients. In return, we will support you in developing your knowledge and progressing your career in law.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking anti-money laundering checks
  • Running conflict checks
  • Reviewing source of funds/source of wealth documentation
  • Draft or check sales contracts and agree terms with the conveyancer acting for the other party to the transaction
  • Collate and send or check supporting legal and financial documents
  • Deal with all financial aspects of a transaction
  • Exchange contracts and complete the transaction
  • If the property is leasehold, obtain the landlord’s agreement to the sale or the change of mortgage and deal with apportionments of rent and service charges.
  • Receive and check mortgage instructions from lenders and undertake specific tasks required
  • Prepare transfer and mortgage deeds
  • Receive mortgage funds
  • Replying to enquiries
  • Raising enquiries
  • Preparing search reports
  • Liaising with land registry
