Paramedic

Role Description

The Paramedic role at Nerams Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in Tyne and Wear and County Durham.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Delivering high-quality pre-hospital emergency care
• Assessing patients
• Stabilizing conditions
• Safely transporting individuals to appropriate healthcare facilities

The Paramedic will respond to emergency and urgent calls, follow clinical protocols, and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Additional tasks involve:

• Accurate documentation of patient information
• Maintaining clinical equipment and ambulance readiness
• Participating in ongoing training to keep skills and certifications up to date
• Supporting event medical cover
• Contributing to risk assessments and safety planning where required

Qualifications

• Recognized Paramedic qualification (e.g., HCPC registration or equivalent) and demonstrated competence in pre-hospital emergency care, having completed an NQP period.
• Strong patient assessment, clinical decision-making, and basic life support/advanced life support skills.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations, risk management, and safe moving and handling practices in ambulance and event settings.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, colleagues, and partner organizations.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritize tasks in dynamic situations, and work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Valid B class driving license and suitable blue light driving qualification (not mandatory)
• Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays as service needs require.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to clinical governance and company policies.
