Role Overview
The role of the Nurse or Paramedic Non-Medical Prescriber will be responsible for the assessment, treatment and discharge of scheduled and unscheduled cases with an urgent nature and assessment, initial treatment and referral of emergency cases in patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities
- Use their non-medical prescribing qualification to support patient care according to the local formulary.
- As senior clinicians, support staff who issue medications via PGD with their prescribing decisions.
- Take charge of the day to day running of the UTC.
- In the absence of the operations manager, manage general enquiries, staffing issues, complaints, and support junior staff as required.

Additional Responsibilities
- Autonomous assessment, treatment, and discharge of adults and children presenting a wide range of minor injuries and minor illnesses in accordance with local policies and national clinical guidelines.
- Ensure that all patients' individual needs are assessed on admissions, their care planned appropriately, delivered in accordance with best practice, and evaluate.
- Assist the Operations Manager to improve patient care and deputise in their absence.
