Senior Paraplanner

Location: Taunton, Hybrid working

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Paraplanner to join a growing financial planning team in Taunton. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting Financial Advisers by preparing high-quality suitability reports, conducting detailed technical research, and ensuring all recommendations are compliant with regulatory requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Paraplanner who is looking to develop their career within a supportive, professional, and client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and compliant suitability reports based on Financial Adviser recommendations.
  • Conduct detailed financial product, investment, and fund research to support client recommendations.
  • Analyse complex client information, including income, assets, pensions, investments, and protection requirements.
  • Support Advisers in developing tailored financial planning strategies for clients.
  • Ensure all advice and documentation align with FCA regulations and internal compliance standards.
  • Liaise closely with Financial Advisers and administration teams to gather, review, and clarify client information.
  • Assist with cashflow modelling and the preparation of financial planning scenarios where required.
  • Maintain accurate, organised, and up-to-date client records.
  • Stay informed of changes to financial products, legislation, regulation, and market developments.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (Level 4) or working towards completion.
  • Previous experience within a Paraplanning or technical financial services role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial planning products, including pensions, investments, and protection.
  • Proven experience preparing detailed suitability reports.
  • Good understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively alongside Financial Advisers and wider teams.
