About the role

You will play a vital role in supporting advisers through detailed research, technical analysis, and the preparation of clear, compliant suitability reports. This role offers the opportunity to work with Financial Planners, acting as a key technical partner in the advice process while continuing to develop your own specialist knowledge and expertise. You'll utilise your technical knowledge to inform planning strategies, help identify solutions, and ensure advice recommendations are thoroughly researched and accurately documented.

Accountabilities

  • Produce accurate, high-quality suitability reports that deliver clear, compliant and client-friendly advice within agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • Conduct detailed research and analysis across pensions, investment, protection, and wider financial planning products to support adviser recommendations.
  • Apply technical knowledge and experience to help Financial Planners develop appropriate planning strategies to achieve the best client outcomes.
  • Develop effective working relationships with Financial Planners through regular communication via email, Teams, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Apply your technical expertise to support Financial Planners in delivering sophisticated financial planning solutions, acting as a trusted sounding board for complex cases and planning ideas.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a Paraplanning or similar technical financial planning role, ideally gained within a wealth management or financial advice environment.
  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning through the CII, CISI, or LIBF, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, protection, long-term care, and inheritance tax planning.
  • Experience producing high-quality suitability reports, research, and technical analysis to support client recommendations.
  • Confident using cashflow modelling to support clients’ financial planning strategies and long-term objectives.
  • Experience supporting Financial Planners with complex client cases, including gathering, analysing, and presenting technical information.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • High standard of written communication, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and client-friendly documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Working towards Chartered status, or already Chartered, would be advantageous.
