Job Title: Paraplanner
Location: Derby
Basic Salary: Up to £45,000
Hours: Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm
About our client and the role:
This established and growing wealth management practice provides bespoke financial planning and wealth management advice to individuals, families, business owners and professionals, with a strong focus on long-term relationships and a highly personal approach. As a Senior Partner Practice of St. James’s Place, the firm benefits from the resources and wider expertise of a leading UK wealth management organisation, while maintaining its own close-knit culture.
Working within a friendly and supportive environment where colleagues support one another, my client is looking to appoint a Paraplanner, following internal progression. The firm welcomes applications from both experienced professionals and strong Trainee Paraplanners with some relevant experience. You will support the Advisers with research, suitability reports, client documentation and case administration, ensuring work is accurate, compliant and delivered to a high standard.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
- Annual discretionary bonus
- Annual leave: 20 days + Bank Holidays

- Death in service: 3x salary

Working Hours:
- Hours: Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm with 1hr for lunch
- Working pattern: Hybrid Working - 1 day from home after initial probation period has concluded (approx 4 months)
Skills and experience:
- Previous Paraplanning experience – essential.
- Experience within an SJP Partner Practice – desirable.
- Qualification: Level 4 Diploma qualified or currently working towards the qualification.
- Understanding: Good understanding of financial products, services and the financial advice process.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of FE Analytics, Voyant and Salesforce/Aptus – advantageous.
- Skills: Strong analytical, communication and technical writing skills.
- Organisational skills: Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Understanding: Good understanding of Paraplanning administration, including business submissions, presentation packs, reports and supporting documentation.
- Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate, personalised suitability reports and client correspondence.
- Undertake research and analysis to support recommendations across retirement, investment, protection, IHT/trust and business planning.
- Ensure all client documentation is accurate, compliant and fully supported.
- Investigate and respond to client queries accurately and efficiently.
- Provide administrative support, including Letters of Authority and business submissions.
- Manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines and service standards.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver a high-quality client experience.
