An established, privately owned wealth management firm in Leeds is looking to appoint an experienced Paraplanner.
Founded more than 20 years ago, the business provides bespoke financial planning and private wealth management advice to professionals, senior executives, entrepreneurs and other private clients.
The firm advises across investments, retirement planning, tax planning and wealth protection, building long-term relationships and developing strategies around each client’s individual circumstances and objectives.
This is an opportunity to join a close-knit and highly qualified team, working alongside experienced Financial Advisers and other technical professionals. It is a varied Paraplanning role with exposure to a broad range of financial planning work and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the quality of advice provided.
The role
- Providing comprehensive technical support across the Financial Adviser team
- Producing accurate and compliant suitability reports within agreed timescales
- Assisting with the preparation of client portfolio reviews
- Conducting research across pensions, investments and other financial planning products
- Producing client cash flow models
- Responding to technical queries from clients and colleagues
- Monitoring recommended providers, products and financial planning structures
- Helping to maintain preferred provider panels
- Updating standard report wording, technical resources and internal planning tools
- Supporting the training and development of other team members
- Producing technical updates for clients and professional introducers when appropriate
- Working closely with Financial Advisers to deliver a consistently high standard of client service

About you
To be considered, you must:
- Have at least three years’ relevant Paraplanning experience
- Be currently working in a full Paraplanning role
- Have strong technical knowledge, including comprehensive pensions experience
- Be experienced in producing high-quality, compliant suitability reports
- Possess strong research, analytical and written communication skills
- Be comfortable supporting varied and potentially complex financial planning cases
- Be competent in Excel to at least an intermediate level
- Enjoy working collaboratively as part of an office-based team
- Level 4 Diploma qualification is preferred. However, candidates who are working towards Level 4 may be considered where they have sufficient experience and can demonstrate strong technical ability.

The firm is committed to supporting continued professional development and offers financial assistance and study support towards relevant qualifications. For someone looking to continue developing within Paraplanning, there is the opportunity to progress into a more senior or technically focused position, taking on greater responsibility for complex cases, technical resources, internal training and the development of other team members. Depending on your skills and career ambitions, longer-term opportunities may also exist within technical leadership, management or financial advice. Support is available for those wishing to continue towards the Advanced Diploma and Chartered status.
