Paraplanner | Nottingham | Full Time | Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm | £30,000-£40,000 per annum DOE
Are you an experienced Paraplanner looking for a new opportunity within an established financial planning practice?
Our client is an Independent Financial Services Group Practice, established in 2001 and based in the Midlands. They specialise in all areas of financial planning for both corporate and individual clients across the UK.
The Role
As a Paraplanner, you will play an important role in preparing robust suitability reports and review letters, carrying out technical research, and working closely with Financial Advisers to help deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.
You will also contribute to the continued improvement of processes and assist the wider team as your knowledge and experience develop.
You will support the wider adviser team, currently consisting of four Financial Advisers. The paraplanning team consists of a Paraplanner and Senior Paraplanner.
The workload can vary, but you will typically complete approximately 12 suitability reports per week, alongside preparing review letters. The main areas of advice include pensions, investments, retirement planning, inheritance tax planning, trusts, VCTs, annuities and business relief.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing suitability reports and review letters across a range of advice areas, including tax calculations, cashflow forecasting and switch analysis
- Working closely with Financial Advisers to discuss client cases, identify missing information and suggest alternative strategies where appropriate
- Carrying out product, fund and provider research to support suitable client recommendations
- Supporting with the submission of more complex new business cases, such as VCTs
- Ensuring all compliance, internal business and provider documentation is completed and recorded on the back-office system
- Completing work in line with company policies, procedures, compliance standards and legislative requirements
- Liaising effectively with colleagues, product providers and third parties
- Supporting the wider Support Team, including providing assistance or training where needed
- Continuing to build your technical knowledge and understanding of financial planning advice
- Carrying out reasonable ad-hoc duties as required by the company

Requirements
Essential
- 2-5 years experience within the financial planning industry, including at least 2 years experience in paraplanning
- Working towards or already holding a Level 4 qualification in Financial Planning, or higher
- A strong understanding of financial planning processes, compliance requirements and the importance of clear audit trails
- Experience using FE Analytics
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and relevant financial planning systems
- The ability to prioritise and manage your own workload, using your initiative with minimal supervision
- Clear, concise writing skills and excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- A flexible, organised approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive attitude towards learning, development and improving the client experience

Desirable
- Experience using Dynamic Planner, Intelliflo, 4Admin, Cashcalc and Selectapension would be advantageous
