Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire

Working pattern: Office-based

Qualification: Level 4 Diploma qualified or actively working towards

The Company

An established and growing wealth management business providing financial planning and investment advice to private clients across the UK.

The firm has built a strong reputation for high-quality, long-term client relationships and has continued to grow both organically and through investment in its people and infrastructure.

As part of this growth, they are looking to add an experienced Paraplanner to their St Albans office, working closely with Financial Planners and the wider client support team.

The Role

This is a broad paraplanning position supporting Financial Planners across the full advice process.

You will be responsible for researching, analysing and preparing high-quality financial planning recommendations, ensuring advisers have the technical support required to provide clients with appropriate and compliant advice.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing suitability reports and recommendation letters across a range of financial planning areas
  • Carrying out technical research and analysis to support adviser recommendations
  • Reviewing client objectives, circumstances and existing arrangements
  • Producing cashflow modelling and financial planning analysis where required
  • Supporting advice across pensions, investments, retirement planning, protection and tax-efficient planning
  • Liaising closely with Financial Planners before and after client meetings
  • Preparing technical information and supporting documentation for client meetings
  • Ensuring advice documentation meets internal compliance and regulatory standards
  • Liaising with providers and platforms where additional technical information is required
  • Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring cases progress efficiently
  • Keeping up to date with regulatory, legislative and product developments

About You

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Hold the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, or be actively working towards completing it
  • Have previous experience working within a paraplanning or technical financial planning environment
  • Have a good understanding of pensions, investments and financial planning products
  • Be comfortable producing detailed suitability reports and technical research
  • Have strong written communication and attention to detail
  • Be organised and comfortable managing several cases at different stages
  • Be confident working closely with Financial Planners and other members of the client team
  • Take pride in delivering a high standard of work and client service
