Anderson Strathern Asset Management Ltd offer independent, bespoke financial planning and asset management to individuals, families, trusts, charities and corporate entities.
Purpose of the Role
To provide support to Financial Planners by producing high quality, compliant, client-focussed recommendation reports, thorough research, technical support and cashflow modelling reports, as required.
Your role is to:
- Draft new client holistic recommendation reports, post-review suitability reports, ad-hoc recommendations and provide technical support to Financial Planners
- Recommendations will vary in complexity depending on client circumstances but will include investment, protection, pensions and retirement (accumulation and decumulation), IHT and succession planning, cashflow modelling, annuities, trusts, tax matters and business financial planning matters
- Manage your own workflow and proactively manage Financial Planner and client expectations. Take ownership for the quality and timeliness of paraplanning work, ensuring that service standards are met
- Carry out research and analysis to formulate appropriate recommendations
- Obtain illustrations, pre-populate application paperwork and other relevant literature to accompany client reports
- Maintain high level of technical expertise through regular training, professional qualifications (where appropriate) and ongoing CPD
- Maintain a high level of compliance at all times to effectively mitigate risks
- Contribute and engage in process improvements across the business
- Contribute to regular Advice Forum meetings and ensure consistency of advice across the business
- Ad-hoc project work, as required

As a Paraplanner, you will be expected to:
- Be highly client focussed with excellent attention to detail
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
- Have excellent financial services knowledge and technical expertise
- Be technically proficient in a range of applications – ideally Intelliflo, Voyant, Select-a-Pension, Financial Express Analytics, MICAP, iPipeline, Microsoft suite of applications

Key Characteristics
You will be expected to demonstrate an ability to:

Qualifications and Skills
You will have:
- CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent) - essential
- Minimum 2 years plus experience in a paraplanning role - essential
- Technical expertise – ideally proficient in Intelliflo, Voyant, Select a Pension, Financial Express Analytics, MICAP, Microsoft suite of applications
- Experience of working with AI planning tools
