Paraplanner Opportunity

We are looking to appoint an experienced Paraplanner to support our current team of independent financial advisers here at the Yeovil office.

This is a new position and, as such, will allow you to be instrumental in shaping the future of your role.

The successful applicant will be joining a collaborative and client-focused team, providing holistic financial planning advice to both private and business clients.

You will work closely with your IFAs, ensuring all work is accurate, compliant and tailored to each client’s individual objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting three IFAs
  • Attending client meetings (where practical)
  • Producing high-quality suitability reports across a range of financial planning areas, including Cash Flow Modelling
  • Conducting technical research across pensions, investments, protection and financial planning solutions
  • Supporting advisers with complex client cases from initial research through to recommendation
  • Maintaining accurate client records
  • Supporting annual reviews
  • Preparing client documentation and technical analysis.

Paraplanner – Requirements

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (minimum requirement)
  • Ideally working towards Chartered status (desirable but not essential)
  • Previous experience working as a Paraplanner within a financial planning environment (minimum 2 years’ experience desirable)
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial planning, investments and pensions
  • Excellent analytical and report writing skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • A proactive attitude and genuine desire to continue developing professionally
  • Excellent communication skills with both clients and professional contacts
  • Well presented, as this is a key client-facing role.

Paraplanner – Package

  • £40,000–£50,000 depending on experience
  • Full study support towards Chartered status, including paid study leave and exam funding
  • Death in Service 4 x salary
  • Long-term sickness pay
  • 5% employer pension contribution
  • 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), increasing after 5 years’ service.
