Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Role Primary Purpose:

A paraplanner assists financial advisors by researching, verifying and preparing financial reports. This job ensures that financial advice is accurate and beneficial for clients.

They do the numbers, conduct research and produce reports, easing pressure on financial advisors who need to invest more time in sustaining customer relations and strategic planning.

Much of a paraplanner's job is spent performing detailed research on various financial products. These may include investment packages, pension schemes, insurance plans and more.

Paraplanners often prepare comprehensive financial reports containing key insights and recommendations. Financial advisors use these for their clients to ensure they receive well-informed guidance to make informed financial decisions.

To ensure that all financial advice adheres to the regulations, paraplanners often play a role in carrying out compliance checks. This involves ensuring each piece of advice complies with the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority regulations.

Analytical thinking is the cornerstone of your skills as a paraplanner. You will continually be required to scrutinise complex financial information, identify trends and make solid recommendations. The ability to methodically and logically analyse a sea of data is a vital trait that defines a successful paraplanner.
