About the Company
An established and highly respected independent financial planning firm is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join its growing team in Guildford. The business has built its reputation on doing the right thing for clients, placing long-term relationships, integrity and quality advice at the heart of everything it does. The paraplanning team plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, compliant financial planning and ensuring advisers can focus on providing exceptional client service.
About the Role
- Location: Guildford
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 (Dependent on Experience)
A Technical Paraplanning Role within a growing local business. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced paraplanner who enjoys technical research, report writing and contributing to positive client outcomes as part of a collaborative and professional team.
Working closely with a team of Financial Advisers, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive paraplanning support across a broad range of financial planning areas including pensions, investments, inheritance tax planning, retirement planning and protection. You will have access to modern financial planning tools, established processes and dedicated administrative support, enabling you to focus on the technical analysis, research and advice file preparation. The role offers exposure to complex planning scenarios and the opportunity to work within a firm that values professional development, technical excellence and always doing the right thing for our clients.

Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed research and analysis of financial planning solutions.
- Prepare suitability reports, recommendation letters and supporting documentation.
- Assist advisers in developing appropriate planning strategies to meet client objectives.
- Analyse pension, investment and protection arrangements.
- Undertake cashflow modelling and retirement planning analysis.
- Ensure all recommendations are supported by robust research and compliant documentation.
- Liaise with advisers, providers and administrative staff to ensure cases progress efficiently.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Keep up to date with legislative, taxation and technical developments affecting financial planning.
- Support the firm's commitment to delivering high-quality client outcomes.
- Follow internal compliance procedures and maintain strong attention to detail.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of paraplanning processes and standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (Level 4) qualified or working towards completion.

Required Skills
- Previous experience in a Paraplanner role within a financial planning firm.
- Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, protection and retirement planning.
- Experience preparing suitability reports and conducting product research.
- Excellent report-writing and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage workloads effectively and prioritise deadlines.
- Professional, ethical and client-focused approach.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Ongoing training, development and support towards further qualifications.
- Career progression opportunities to Financial Adviser within a growing business, should you wish.
Pay range and compensation package
Up to £55,000 salary, dependent on experience.
