Paraplanner | Financial Planning

Location: Preston

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting an experienced Paraplanner on behalf of a well-established and growing financial planning and wealth management firm.

Our client is looking for a technically strong, organised and client-focused Paraplanner to work closely with Financial Planners and support the delivery of high-quality, holistic financial advice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced financial planning professional who enjoys the technical side of advice, takes pride in producing high-quality work and wants to be part of a professional and supportive environment.

The Role

Working alongside Financial Planners and the wider client services team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing comprehensive suitability reports and recommendation documentation
  • Conducting detailed technical research and analysis
  • Supporting Financial Planners with complex client cases
  • Reviewing client circumstances, objectives and existing arrangements
  • Cashflow modelling and financial planning analysis
  • Researching pensions, investments, protection and tax-efficient planning solutions
  • Ensuring recommendations and documentation meet regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Preparing for client review and planning meetings
  • Liaising with advisers, administrators, providers and other professional parties
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant client records
  • Supporting the delivery of an excellent client experience throughout the advice process

About You

We would be interested in speaking with candidates who have:

  • Previous Paraplanning experience within a UK financial planning or wealth management environment
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions and investments
  • Experience preparing suitability reports and supporting regulated financial advice
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • A professional, proactive and client-focused approach
  • Good understanding of FCA requirements and compliant financial planning processes
  • Level 4 financial planning qualifications, or significant progress towards them, preferred. Further professional qualifications and progress towards Chartered status would be welcomed.
