Paraplanner Manager
Hybrid - 3 office days
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Paraplanner Manager to lead, develop and support a team of Paraplanners and Senior Paraplanners. This is a key leadership role within the Financial Planning function, responsible for ensuring the team delivers high-quality, technically accurate and commercially focused paraplanning support to Financial Advisers and clients.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical paraplanning knowledge with excellent people-management and organizational skills. You will be responsible for setting high standards, managing workflow and capacity, developing team capability and driving continuous improvements across the paraplanning function. The role is hybrid, with 3 days per week office-based and the remaining time working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Line manage a team of Paraplanners and Senior Paraplanners, providing clear direction, support and leadership.
- Set clear objectives and performance expectations, ensuring these are aligned with wider business goals.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews and development conversations.
- Identify training and development needs and support team members in achieving their career aspirations.
- Coach and mentor Paraplanners and Senior Paraplanners to improve technical knowledge, efficiency and quality.
- Manage performance effectively, recognising high performance and addressing areas for improvement.
- Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Workflow & Resource Management
- Oversee the allocation and prioritisation of paraplanning work across the team.
- Monitor workloads, capacity, deadlines and service levels to ensure work is delivered within agreed timescales.
- Effectively manage competing priorities and escalate capacity or resourcing issues where appropriate.
- Ensure the team provides consistent and timely support to Financial Advisers.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, processes and team efficiency.
- Work closely with Financial Planning and Operations leadership to ensure appropriate resource planning.
Technical & Quality Oversight
- Maintain high standards of technical accuracy and quality across all paraplanning work.
- Review and oversee suitability reports, financial planning analysis, recommendations and associated documentation where required.
- Ensure work is completed in line with regulatory requirements, company procedures and agreed technical standards.
- Support the team with complex technical queries and cases.
- Identify recurring technical or quality issues and implement appropriate solutions.
- Work closely with Compliance/Technical teams to ensure best practice is maintained.

Stakeholder Management
- Build strong working relationships with Financial Advisers, Financial Planners and wider business teams.
- Act as a key point of escalation for complex paraplanning and workflow matters.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding priorities, capacity, deadlines and service delivery.
- Ensure the paraplanning team operates as a valued and proactive partner to the Financial Planning team.
Experience
- Experience managing a team comprising both Paraplanners and Senior Paraplanners.
- Experience working within a regulated financial services or wealth management environment.
- Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent.
