Experienced Paraplanner needed in Cheltenham

A well-established financial planning firm is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join their team in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, with a salary of up to £40,000. You'll be supporting a qualified Senior adviser with clients who have significant assets under management, working with a team that values technical excellence and professional development.

Your purpose

You'll provide comprehensive technical paraplanning support to a Senior financial adviser, preparing suitability reports and recommendations for clients with complex financial planning needs. The role exists to ensure the adviser can focus on client relationships while you handle the detailed technical work that underpins every piece of advice. You'll work closely with the adviser who manage established client banks, so the work is relationship-driven rather than transactional.

What the role involves

  • Preparing detailed suitability reports and letters of authority for adviser review
  • Researching and analysing investment, pension and protection solutions across the market
  • Liaising with product providers to progress new business and manage ongoing servicing
  • Supporting a Senior adviser with technical queries and keeping up to date with regulatory changes
  • Using back-office systems to maintain accurate client records and track case progress
  • Working collaboratively with other paraplanners to ensure consistency and share knowledge

Paraplanner Requirements

  • Essential: Proven paraplanning experience supporting an independent financial adviser
  • Essential: Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments and protection
  • Essential: Ability to produce clear, compliant suitability reports to a high standard
  • Desirable: Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or working towards chartered status
  • Desirable: Familiarity with research tools and back-office systems used in financial planning
