Location: Leeds
Salary: Up to £50,000 (depending on experience)
Working Pattern: On-Site

The Opportunity

An established and highly regarded Independent Financial Planning firm in Leeds is looking to recruit an experienced Paraplanner to join its growing technical team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a Chartered Financial Planner, providing high-quality technical support and helping to deliver outstanding financial planning advice to a loyal and diverse client base.

The business prides itself on delivering holistic financial planning and offers genuine career progression, exam support, and a collaborative working environment.

As a Paraplanner, you will play a key role in supporting Financial Advisers by producing high-quality suitability reports, carrying out technical research, and ensuring advice is compliant and tailored to clients' objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and compliant suitability reports across pensions, investments, protection, and estate planning.
  • Conduct technical research on financial products and providers.
  • Analyse client information and make recommendations based on client objectives.
  • Review existing portfolios and undertake fund and product comparisons.
  • Perform cash flow modelling where appropriate.
  • Liaise with advisers, providers, and administration teams to ensure a smooth advice process.
  • Ensure all recommendations comply with FCA regulations and internal compliance procedures.
  • Maintain accurate client records using the firm's back-office CRM.
  • Support advisers with pre and post-meeting preparation.
  • Keep up to date with industry, legislative, and regulatory changes.

These responsibilities reflect the typical technical, research, and report-writing focus of modern paraplanning roles.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as a Paraplanner within an IFA or Wealth Management firm.
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, protection, and tax planning.
  • Experience writing high-quality suitability reports.
  • Diploma Level 4 qualified (or working towards completion).
  • Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience using systems such as Intelligent Office (IO), Xplan, Wealthcraft, or similar CRM/back-office software.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
