About the Role

Paladin Experts is looking for an experienced and highly capable Paraplanner/Expert Report Writer to support our expert witnesses in the preparation of clear, robust and professionally presented loss of income and pension loss reports for use in litigation and other legal proceedings.

Working closely with our financial advisers/financial experts and case management team, the successful candidate will take complex case information, evidence and expert opinion and help develop this into well-structured, objective and court-ready expert reports.

This is a role for someone with a background in Paraplanning/accounting who is looking for a new challenge, with exceptional written communication skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to understand, analyse and clearly communicate complex information. An understanding of the litigation process and the requirements placed upon expert witnesses would be highly advantageous but not essential. A person with strong understanding of the UK pensions and UK tax would be an ideal candidate. So they may come from a Financial Advice or Accounting background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and develop expert witness reports from expert notes, case documentation, evidence, calculations and other supporting material.
  • Work closely with expert witnesses to understand their analysis, conclusions and professional opinion and accurately reflect these within their reports.
  • Review medical, financial, employment and other case-related documentation relevant to the expert's assessment.
  • Analyse and cross-reference information from multiple sources, identifying inconsistencies, missing information or areas requiring clarification.
  • Present complex technical information and calculations in a clear, logical and accessible way for solicitors, barristers, courts and other non-specialist readers.
  • Undertake relevant research, including legislation, guidance, statistical information and other authoritative sources where required.
  • Ensure reports are objective, evidence-based and appropriately reasoned.
  • Assist experts in ensuring that reports comply with relevant court rules, practice directions and expert witness requirements.
  • Proofread and quality-check reports for accuracy, consistency, grammar, formatting and presentation.
  • Verify figures, dates, references and supporting information before reports are finalised.
  • Liaise with experts, solicitors and internal colleagues to obtain additional information or clarification where required.
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously and ensure reports are completed within agreed timescales and court deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure all information is handled securely and confidentially.
  • Support the preparation of supplementary reports, responses to questions, joint statements and other expert witness documentation where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and the duties and responsibilities of expert witnesses.

The Person We're Looking For

The right person will be naturally inquisitive and will not simply accept information at face value. They will be comfortable asking questions, checking facts and identifying where evidence does not quite fit. They will combine excellent writing ability with strong analytical skills and an understanding that an expert report must do more than present a conclusion—it must clearly demonstrate the evidence and reasoning that support that conclusion.

Above all, they will understand the importance of accuracy, independence and objectivity within expert witness work and will take pride in producing reports that can withstand detailed scrutiny by solicitors, counsel and the court.

What Success Looks Like

A successful applicant will enable our experts to concentrate their specialist expertise while ensuring their opinions are communicated through reports that are clear, logical, evidence-based, consistent and professionally presented. They will become a trusted partner to our experts—someone who understands the case, spots gaps or inconsistencies, asks the right questions and helps turn complex expert analysis into a report that is ready for the litigation process.
