Role: Paraplanning Manager

Location: Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire (Hybrid)
Salary: Negotiable + Bonus

The Opportunity

A well-established and highly respected independent financial planning firm is seeking an experienced Paraplanning professional to lead its growing paraplanning team based in Oxfordshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong paraplanner with leadership experience who is looking to play a key role in both the delivery of high-quality financial planning support and contribute to strategic development of the business. The successful individual will combine hands-on paraplanning responsibilities with team management, operational oversight, and involvement in wider business initiatives.

The Role

Working closely with Financial Planners, Compliance, Operations, and the senior leadership team, the Paraplanning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance of the paraplanning team while continuing to provide technical expertise on complex client cases.

This is a varied and rewarding position that requires a balance of technical excellence, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive operational efficiency while maintaining exceptional client service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Paraplanning Support

  • Research pensions, investments, protection and tax planning strategies.
  • Prepare suitability reports, recommendations, and cashflow models.
  • Provide technical support on complex cases and assist with client meetings and reviews.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the paraplanning team.
  • Conduct one-to-ones, appraisals, and performance reviews.
  • Manage team workload, capacity, and performance.
  • Provide technical oversight and chair team meetings, contributing to the wider business planning.

Requirements

  • Several years of paraplanning experience within an IFA, wealth management, or financial planning environment.
  • Diploma qualified (Level 4 Financial Planning qualification or equivalent).
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, protection, and taxation.
  • Experience with cashflow modelling software.
  • Previous people management, team leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
  • Excellent report-writing and analytical skills.
