Role Description

The Paraplanning Manager is a full-time role within Barclays Private Bank, based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows a combination of office-based and work-from-home days. The person in this role will manage and coordinate paraplanning activities, supporting Private Bank advisers with the preparation of high-quality financial plans, reports, and recommendations. The Paraplanning Manager will collaborate closely with advisers, compliance, and operations teams to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and maintain robust controls. The role also involves:

  • Mentoring paraplanning colleagues
  • Contributing to best practices
  • Supporting continuous improvement in client service delivery

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Solid knowledge of finance and financial services, ideally within private banking, wealth management, or investment advisory environments.
  • Experience in accounting and cashflow modelling to support the preparation and review of detailed financial plans.
  • Background in auditing or assurance, with familiarity in applying regulatory and compliance standards to client documentation.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CFP, CISI, CFA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent), or progress towards them, are highly beneficial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to both colleagues and clients.
  • Proven ability to lead or mentor teams, manage workloads, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort with hybrid working practices, strong organisational skills, and proficiency with financial planning tools and standard office software.
