About the Role

The Titan Group provides a broad range of services across the whole wealth value chain - from financial planning, investment management through to platform, trading, settlement, and custody services. Titan Wealth Planning (TWP) is a subsidiary of Titan Wealth. Our focus is providing best-in-class advice on wealth management, employee benefits, and retirement planning. Our mission is to help businesses and their employees explore, set, and achieve their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

To lead and mentor the paraplanning team, geographically spread, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of high-quality paraplanning support to Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) and clients, while upholding company procedures and regulatory standards.

The role is Hybrid, 3 days from the Bristol office, 2 days can be home-based.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in direct line management of paraplanners (essential), including performance management, and ability to guide the team through a period of change, particularly in the context of mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

The successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, such as: integrity, positive ambassador, ability to elevate others when times are tough, self-awareness, compassion, empathy, and buckets of resilience.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of paraplanners.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to foster individual growth and team cohesion.
  • Run regular team meetings to ensure clear communication and set goals.

Workload Management

  • Oversee and manage the daily workflow and task allocation for the paraplanning team.
  • Prioritize work queues to meet deadlines and ensure efficient completion of tasks.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Conduct first-line checks on the quality of paraplanner reports and output.
  • Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations.
  • Monitor error rates and implement training to promote a "right first time" approach.

Technical Support & Expertise

  • Act as a referral point for technical queries, supporting the team with complex cases.
  • Potentially contribute to paraplanning by assisting with research, product analysis, and report preparation for client recommendations.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to refine procedures, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Implement improvements to streamline operations and enhance client service delivery.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration within the team and with other departments.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the paraplanning team, Financial Advisers, and other management.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Level 4 qualified in financial planning
  • Previous experience as a paraplanner or in a similar support role within a financial services firm
  • Strong understanding of financial planning concepts, products, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA)
  • Excellent IT, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to analyze technical information and ensure attention to detail
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset
