The role
The purpose of this role is to play a valuable role in our Operational Excellence Team, as Paraplanning Excellence Trainer. You will be responsible for designing, delivering and embedding high-quality training across the paraplanning function. The role supports efficient paraplanning practices by equipping new and existing colleagues with the technical knowledge, process understanding and confidence required to deliver excellent client and adviser outcomes.
As our Paraplanning Excellence Trainer, you will typically:
- Design, develop and maintain engaging paraplanning training materials covering business processes, systems, technical knowledge, compliance requirements
- Deliver structured process training to new paraplanning colleagues, acquired teams and existing staff, ensuring colleagues understand end-to-end workflows, handoffs, service standards and documentation requirements
- Delivering training face to face, virtually, and on other sites
- Deliver training on core paraplanning process areas, including suitability report preparation, systems, research standards for all business areas
- Travel to different offices to support acquisitions, integration activity and the onboarding and coaching of new paraplanning staff
- Monitor the ongoing performance, confidence and success of new starters following induction, identifying further learning needs and providing targeted follow-up support
- Work closely with paraplanning leaders, compliance, training colleagues and operational stakeholders to ensure training content reflects current processes, quality expectations and regulatory requirements
- Deliver timely training updates when business processes, systems, policy requirements or regulation changes.

What we are looking for in our ideal Paraplanning Excellence Trainer
- Strong experience delivering engaging training sessions face to face and virtually
- Strong experience within paraplanning, financial planning operations or a closely related financial services role
- Sound technical knowledge of the financial planning advice process, including the role of paraplanning in producing robust, compliant and client-focused advice documentation
- Capability to design creative digital assets and training toolkits. Experience of using Articulate 360, Vyond, Canva and other digital design tools
- Experience using an LMS to hold, deliver and monitor training
- Good understanding of relevant regulatory expectations, including FCA requirements, Consumer Duty principles, file quality standards
- Experience of designing and delivering training, coaching or mentoring within a professional services or regulated environment
- Flexible and supportive approach, with a strong commitment to colleague development and high-quality client outcomes
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning, or equivalent
