Aspley Guise Parish Council is seeking a part-time Parish Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer
Our current Clerk will step down on 31st October 2026.
The successful candidate will be employed for 14 hours per week to be worked from home on a flexible basis, working independently from home, along with attendance in person at the monthly Parish Council meeting, which is held in the evening on the first Monday of every month (excluding August) at St Botolph’s Church, Link Room in Aspley Guise.
Please note that this role is for both Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO).
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
- Experience in local government administration
- Recognised qualifications in these skill areas, e.g. CiLCA or willing to achieve it
- Thorough understanding of current IT systems (MS Office) for the running of a modern office and experience of working with social media and websites
- Experience of finance management, preparing financial statements, bookkeeping and budgets
- Good communication skills, both written and oral
- A friendly, helpful and professional telephone manner
- Ability to research and give accurate and clear advice on practice and procedure in local government
- Ability to interpret and process large amounts of complex information and to write detailed reports and analysis

Remuneration
Remuneration will be in accordance with The National Joint Council for Local Government Services (NJC) Pay Scales. This will be agreed upon depending on experience and qualifications.
