Security Officers are a key member of the security team, providing frontline, customer-facing, on-the-ground security support across the Sizewell C Main Development Sites (MDS) and Off Site Infrastructure (OSI.)
This role primarily involves regular patrols, operation of gates and barriers across a variety of different site locations and ensuring that only authorised personnel are able to enter the Sizewell C sites.

- Sizewell C, Leiston, Suffolk, IP16 4UR
- Orwell Logistics Park, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP10 0DD
Contract Details
- 20 hours per week permanent contract.
- The shift pattern is a weekly rotating schedule and candidates must be available for alternating early morning and late afternoon shifts.
- Monday to Friday
Responsibilities
- Conducting mobile and foot patrols around the site location’s fenceline
- Acting as a first point of contact for contractors coming onto the Sizewell C Main Development Sites (MDS) and Off Site Infrastructure (OSI)
- Using our Delivery Management System (DMS) to ensure deliveries are authorised to enter a specific site location and have arrived at the correct date and/or time
- Maintaining adequate and efficient communications within the security team
- Identifying breaches and discrepancies and reporting these using the correct reporting lines and procedures
- Conducting randomised searches
- Conducting drug and alcohol testing
- Safe and efficient operation of gates and barriers
- Provide assistance to bus operations during surge periods

Skills and Competencies
Required:
- Attention to detail when producing written reports and documents.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Good IT skills.
Ability to:

Educational Requirements/Qualifications
- Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor or Security Guarding within the Private Security Industry or higher (not essential but part of onboarding).
Preferred Experience
- Within a security environment

Occupational Requirements
- SIA Licence.
- Ability to pass and hold National Security Clearance Vetting.
- UK Driving License.
- Produce a Five-year verifiable work history.
