We need you!

Play a key role in keeping our St Albans Campus moving safely and smoothly. You’ll guide traffic flow, manage busy drop-off and pick-up periods, and ensure pedestrians and vehicles navigate the site confidently and securely.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safe arrival and departure of students
  • Manage and direct traffic flow, including stopping, slowing, and guiding vehicles to enable safe drop-off, pick-up, and parking with minimal disruption.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all road users, ensuring effective interaction between vehicles and pedestrians at all times.
  • Monitor traffic conditions and anticipate potential risks or congestion, taking proactive steps to mitigate issues.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of processes to enhance traffic management and safety outcomes.
  • Work flexibly to meet service demands, including operating during peak arrival and departure periods.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of health and safety, identifying hazards and supporting risk assessments.

  • Ability to manage traffic flow safely and efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to anticipate driver behaviour.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Experience

  • Experience in traffic supervision or a similar operational role, or willingness to learn.

Knowledge Specific to Role

  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and risk assessment principles.

Personal Attributes

  • Well organised with a flexible approach to work.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and proactive (“can do”) attitude.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to delivering a high-quality service.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods in all weather conditions.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience managing traffic in a school, campus, or public setting.
  • Experience contributing to process improvements or operational procedures.
