Summary
This role involves managing all aspects of the Council's parking services for a 6-month contract with a local authority. The position requires overseeing car parks, permit administration, parking operations, contractor management, and collaboration with the Parking Partnership. The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of safe, compliant, and efficient parking services, while also managing financial performance, regulatory compliance, traffic regulation matters, and the maintenance of parking infrastructure. This role is crucial for maintaining a customer-focused approach to parking services.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of Council-owned car parks and parking facilities.
- Ensure car parks are safe, operational, and comply with Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs).
- Manage the maintenance of parking machines, signage, lighting, tariff boards, surfacing, and related infrastructure.
- Conduct regular inspections of car parks and coordinate necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure health and safety compliance across all parking facilities.
- Administer parking permits, including issuing, renewing, suspending, and cancelling permits in line with Council policies.
- Manage staff parking permit schemes and related administration.
- Ensure adherence to lost property procedures and accurate record-keeping.
- Handle requests for CCTV footage in compliance with GDPR and Council policies.

Requirements:
- Significant experience in managing the operational delivery of a parking service.
- Experience in administering parking permit schemes and managing parking infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of parking enforcement legislation, Traffic Regulation Orders, and related regulations.
- Full UK Driving Licence held for at least 12 months.
- Educated to A-Level standard, equivalent qualification, or significant relevant experience.
- Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development.

Additional Information
- Working hours are 37 hours per week.
- Full UK Driving Licence held for at least 12 months required.
- The role requires the successful candidate to be based on site 4 days per week.
- Payment is on a bi-weekly schedule.
